Jason is a human-centred leader who has held leadership roles in four sectors.
Jason's current focus is on Reimagining Government, as the Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand lead at the Centre for Public Impact – an independent global non-profit established to help government tackle its most complex challenges. Jason is also currently a research collaborator at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University, Canberra.
Jason has held senior leadership roles at the Department of Premier & Cabinet, Victoria and the Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet, New Zealand. Jason has also worked at the Department of the Premier & Cabinet, Western Australia.
Jason's focus areas in government are in major national reforms to social and economic policy, intergovernmental relations, policy innovation, and public sector reform.
Jason was a founding Partner at Mandala (economics and public policy) and held senior roles at PwC, Deloitte, Accenture, and AlphaBeta (economics).
Jason has helped the largest public sector and corporate clients in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand to progress major national reforms to social and economic policy, drive improved outcomes for the climate and environment, and improve equity, equality, and prosperity.
Jason has been an Honorary Professor at the University of Melbourne, where he taught graduate programmes in public administration and economics, and led social activation programmes in Indigenous business.
Jason has also led applied economic research programmes at the Australian National University focused on economic security and international trade. Jason remains a research collaborator at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the ANU.
Jason leads the ANZ region at the Centre for Public Impact, where he works with governments and philanthropic funders to tackle challenges in climate, AI, health, and social cohesion through adopting more innovative, relational, and legitimate ways of working.
Jason was formerly the Programme Director for Public Sector at McKinnon, an independently funded "think and do tank" focused on improving democracy, politics, and public policy in Australia.
