Indigenous Economic Development
I'm currently working with a Go8 University to transform their impact in Indigenous business. I'm driving a whole-of-system reform touching on research and academia, graduate and undergraduate programmes, culture and policies, philanthropic engagement and social impact. In this project, I'm working with Indigenous academics and community leaders, Indigenous and non-Indigenous leadership across the University, and Indigenous peak bodies and entrepreneurs to deliver a new level of economic independence for Indigenous Australians. My work ranges from strategy to business case development and operational planning.
Entrepreneurship and Social Impact
I've worked with a Go8 University to review existing for-impact and for-profit entrepreneurial programmes, research translation programmes and graduate courses in Entrepreneurship. I bridged the gap between the can-do, hands-on world of entrepreneurs and the University's central and academic leadership. On the basis of my recommendations, the University established an overarching approach to entrepreneurship and start-up sector engagement, established a new centre for entrepreneurship and made senior appointments to operationalise the strategy.
Policy Methods and Innovation
I provided services to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (New Zealand) to assist in the understanding and adoption of leading policy-making techniques across NZ government. I lead or participated in the development of official guidance and communities of practice in behavioural economics, design thinking, policy accelerators and new forms of evidence in policy. I worked with agencies at both the executive and policy manager levels to trial and adopt leading policy methods in real policy projects.
